Adam & Razia’s Master Bathroom Renovation

What’s especially great about doing renovations in addition to our house flips, is that sometimes we get to do them for people we love. When our brother, Adam, and sister in law, Razia, expressed interest in updating their master bathroom, we were happy to help, especially since our little niece was due to arrive any day! They live on the south side of Edmonton in a lovely home and slowly over the years, they’ve upgraded the kitchen, added some personality to the basement and made small changes here and there. This master bathroom renovation, however, was going to be a complete overhaul. Here’s what it looked like before and during…Master Bathroom RenovationAs you can see it was all ‘builder beige’ with run of the mill tiles and a huge corner tub that was hard to utilize. The shower was so dark and enclosed. So, Ryan tore everything out and played around with new plumbing locations to see if we couldn’t make the space a little more useable. Master Bathroom Renovation Master Bathroom Renovation Master Bathroom Renovation Master Bathroom RenovationInstead of having a small corner unit like before, Adam and Raz wanted the shower to run the entire length of this wall – which is the perfect use of this space! Here you can see the new kerdie water proofing system for their huge shower.

And after patiently awaiting their new bathroom, here is how it all came together…Master Bathroom RenovationFor this space, we went with a rustic meets contemporary look. The heated floor tiles bring in the warmth of wood texture (and actual warmth because that heating system underneath is incredible!!) and they also wanted Ryan to finish off their vanity with concrete counters. I love the blend of these textures in a bathroom.Master Bathroom Renovation Master Bathroom RenovationAnd while the space is quite masculine, Raz found ways to pull in a few glamorous touches with the mirrors and light fixtures.Master Bathroom RenovationMaster Bathroom Renovation Master Bathroom RenovationMaster Bathroom RenovationThe shower is by far my favourite part of the design. I love the wall tiles that we chose and that rain shower head is a showstopper. Having a simple glass divide rather than full doors creates an open and airy feeling, with less cleaning attached, and the bench on the opposite side gives them a place to sit or place products. Master Bathroom Renovation Master Bathroom RenovationMaster Bathroom RenovationKona also approves of the new master bathroom renovation! What do you think?! A big thanks to my brother and sister for letting me share their space! Happy Monday everyone! xx
