Coffee on the Ave

Even though we are technically still in the throws of winter, and an Albertan is never one to believe winter is quite over, there was some beautiful spring sunshine this past weekend. And even though we lost an hour of time, the daylight starts lasting so much longer now!! It’s like a breath of fresh air! And it’s my favourite time of year for winter style because you can layer up and look much more put together rather than throwing on those bulky winter jackets. I met up with my Behind the Blush cohorts Stefanie and Janna to do some wedding planning and to check out some of the new coffee spots on Jasper Ave. And to soak up some sunshine too, of course!
Winter StyleStef looked so chic in muted grey and purple tones. A lightweight jacket was all she needed over top a soft shirtdress and tights. And of course, her scarf was the last layer needed to give her some warmth.Winter Style

I love that she brought a punch of colour to her outfit with her maroon ankle boots and purple sunnies. Adorable!Winter Style

Winter StyleWinter StyleUpon Janna’s return from London and Iceland, I have coveted many pieces in her wardrobe. She found this amazing deal on a Free People Wool Jacket for instance and layered it over a beautiful kimono from Iceland. Winter StyleBasic black jeans and chelsea boots pull her look together – always a chic combo! Winter StyleI especially love Janna’s peach toned locks as well…such a great spring colour! Winter StyleJasper Ave has recently opened two new coffee joints: Lock Stock and Coffee Bureau. We headed over to check out the latter since Lock Stock isn’t quite open on weekends yet and were very happy with our flat whites. The interior is small but ultra modern with beautiful white geometric tile that I wanted in my house. winter style

Winter StyleWinter StyleCan you tell I love neutrals? I grabbed this long kimono style cardigan in the fall and it’s still my go to for winter layering, typically over my black jeans. These Gap sneakers are my new favourite item – so comfortable and versatile. And they were a great price too at the outlet! Winter StyleMy Oak and Fort scarf remains to this day my absolute favourite – even when its covered in dog hair 🙂

If you are in the Edmonton area, head down Jasper Ave and check out the new coffee goodness! Especially if you are tired from losing an hour of sleep like me. And on another note, check out the ladies first Beauty Class being offered this April at Fabloomosity studio. They will be doing a session all about Day to Night looks! How exciting! Head here for more info.

I hope you had a great weekend xo
