Using GPS Guided Travel Articles

GPS guided travel articlesI don’t know about you but besides design blogs, I always get excited reading articles on travel. Travelling is such a big passion of mine and great blog posts can really inspire my future travels. I actually get a lot of my travel recommendations from my favourite blogs. A little while ago, I was contacted by GPSMyCity, a company that takes a great post and turns it into a GPS travel guide. I loved the idea since I’m always referencing my favourite posts to plan my trips but would really appreciate an app that allowed me to do that without having to find wifi or use my data! And so, I’m really excited that some of my posts are now turned into apps for your reading pleasure.

So what are GPS Guided Travel Articles exactly…

The app takes the GPS coordinates of popular sites, great restaurants or fantastic shops right from the blog post and embeds them in the article, then adds a map of the route! And you can find literally thousands of these articles (from over 600 worldwide cities) at GPSmyCity. Once this app is downloaded to your phone, you will not need any internet to use the article as a guide. It will show you right where you are on the map and guide you to each subsequent location!

And just so you know…you can upload any travel article from GPSmyCity free of charge, so that you can read it at your pleasure without wi-fi. On the plane…on the beach…walking around your favourite city…wherever. Save that data and no roaming charges! And, if you decide you want it to be a GPS-guided article, all you do is pay a small fee to upgrade (about $1.00). So easy!

There are two ways to access article apps on your IOS device. You can either click on the links below and if you haven’t already downloaded the free GPSMyCity app you will be prompted to do so. Or, once you have the GPSMyCity app, you can browse by city to see what articles are available. You can then download the article for free or upgrade for offline use and GPS tracking.

If you want to give it a try, for the next week, you can download two of my article apps for free:
