Inspired Read: Cupcakes & Cashmere At Home

cupcakes & cashmere at homeI have reviewed several novels and even some non-fiction works in this series, but never have I looked at a home or design book. Which surprises me because I have so many incredible ones!! (my living room is getting close to its max with coffee table books, I’d say). So I decided it was time to look at my most recent home book purchase: Cupcakes & Cashmere At Home. I have been a long time fan of Emily’s blog, as have most bloggers, and I think most of us can say that it’s a staple in our daily reading. I have followed her for years and still have her first book that was centred on seasonal style. So when her next instalment hit the shelves, I grabbed it pretty quick. Here’s why I love it just as much as her blog…cupcakes & cashmere at homePart 1: Her first section is all about decor, broken up into different areas of the home. I love that she used her own pictures instead of relying on other decorators’ work and really plugged her awesome interior decorator, Amber Interiors (big fan!!). Her photos are crisp and clear, much like her blog, and I especially love her design inspiration boards. She breaks down some great interior design ideas for both renters and home owners and includes many of her personal design philosophies. I love that she injected her personality into the book…it makes it that much more enjoyable to read. PS…I am so stealing some ideas from her office shelf styling!cupcakes & cashmere at homePart 2: The second section is all about entertaining, which is a big passion of hers. I LOVED this section because it gave me some great inspiration. Ryan and I love hosting but we tend to do the same thing most nights. She included different themed parties with what to cook (recipes included), what to wear, how to prepare the house and even what songs to listen to…what a great touch! I absolutely loved this section of the book and plan to make good use of it (how lucky are our friends lol)

So if you’re looking for a design book that is completely relatable, beautiful and just the right amount of inspiration, then pick this one up. It definitely makes my list of inspired reads. cupcakes & cashmere at home
