My Winter Essentials

Winters in Edmonton can be hard – long hours of darkness, colder temperatures and lots of snow. This year has been a bit milder and for that I am beyond thankful, but even still, it becomes essential to find the right products and little pick me ups to get through to Spring. We still try to find fun activities to do in the winter, go out for dinners and movies, and see family and friends; but for the most part, I do love to stay in and be cozy at home too. There’s something special about bundling up inside and seeing that snow fall outside! So, I thought I would compile a few of my winter essentials for both staying in and going out – the items that bring me the most comfort when those temperatures drop!winter essentials

My Winter Essentials:

Creating warm pockets of light in the winter is so important and these candles are my fave (I need to get a new one since this was one of the casualties in the Laurier house unfortunately)

My lips get hella dry in the winter and this mint julep lip scrub is amazing to clear away the dry skin

I’ve got to treat my feet well in winter (they are almost always freezing!!) and these knit reading socks from Chapters are beyond comfortable

I am really coming to embrace the beanie look! It’s cute meets cozy! And I’ve been living in this grey one the past little while.

I would never be able to get through a winter without my parka. I love the horizontal stripes on this one and how cozy it looks with the added vegan fur trim

I live in sweaters all winter – a lot of turtleneck ones this year especially! But this Urban Outfitters one is still hands down my favourite.

I definitely up the number of baths I take in the winter months. I light candles, grab a good read and put on a soothing playlist. This luxurious bath soak has detoxifying sea salts to relieve tired muscles, with chamomile and vitamin E providing a touch of moisture for my dry skin.

I love me some Pura and this night time cream is great to add to my evening skin care regime.

It’s no secret I’m a coffee lover but in the winter, I drink a lot more tea too (love the caffeine free herbal blends before bed!). Serving it in a cute teacup with gold details adds the perfect touch.

A lavishly textured faux-fur throw? It doesn’t get much cozier than that!

I take really good care of my skin in the winter and can very easily overlook my hair. I am trying to get into the habit of regular treatments and Kerastase has some great nourishing hair masks that smell heavenly and help to lock in that moisture!
