How to Incorporate Pantone’s 2017 Colour of the Year into Your Decor

A little over a month ago, Pantone announced their coveted colour of the year – Greenery. Now, the design world was a bit divided over this choice. Some absolutely loved it, while others cringed at the bright green hue! Me – I’m on the fence. While I love the rational behind the choice and what green itself represents, I prefer deeper, richer shades of the colour. With that being said, I still think anyone can incorporate Pantone’s 2017 colour of the year into their decor. I love that there is an emphasis to connect with nature this year. So one way to incorporate this colour is to simply add more greenery in your home. In fact, that was one of my New Year’s resolutions – to have and take care of more plants, since I think they can really rejuvenate a space. So don’t be afraid of adding a few succulents or leafy trees here and there.

Now, you could also go very bold with this hue! Painting a feature wall, slapping up a vibrant wallpaper or even making a major purchase like a sofa. Going big with a trend is always fun! Just make sure to balance this vivid colour with some neutrals and minimalistic surroundings like they did here. That way it won’t consume your space, making you tire of it quickly.

And if neither of those options are getting you inspired by Greenery, then how about some simple decor accents. A small candle placed on a coffee table, a throw pillow that could easily be swapped out, or even an affordable accent chair are all great decor additions. I especially love the idea of adding a bit of ‘Greenery’ inspired artwork into my existing gallery walls for a fresh look.
