Some Spring Stripes

Spring break is right around the corner and I can’t wait to jet set off to London! But before I do that, I have to pack, move, unpack and then pack again for the trip…which suddenly made me very tired! Anyways, it has been beautiful here in my lovely city of Edmonton, and the hour jump forward has given us even more evening light. It couldn’t feel more like spring! But, after many years of living in this northern metropolis, I know not to get too ahead of myself. I’m sure there is another dump of snow on the way…

The problem with that is all the adorable dresses in store, tempting me to make the transition from my cold to warm weather wardrobe. But until winter is far behind, I only like adding small touches of spring into my outfits. Like this striped mini dress! It will look great solo, with a jean jacket and sandals; but for now, it also looks great layered with tights and a lightweight sweater. spring stripes

The deeper burgundy of the sweater is more of a fall colour, but when layered over a soft white striped dress, I think it reads perfectly for spring. spring stripesspring stripes

I get so much use out of my cross body bag that I bought last summer. It’s always the purse I reach to when I’m going out, shopping or even travelling. I’d love to find a similar style in a lighter leather colour for spring. spring stripes spring stripesI can’t wait for warmer weather and less layers…but until then, I’ll find small spring additions to jazz up the old wardrobe! How do you transition your outfits for spring??

A HUGE thank you to Bre for the impromptu photo shoot (after a major birthday celebration the night before, no less!)
