That’s a Wrap! Gift Wrapping Made Easy

holiday gift wrappingIt is somehow December already (quick, panic!!! lol). If you are ahead of the game and bought all your Christmas presents on Black Friday, then you’ll be starting to get that wrapping done soon – or you’ll leave them hidden away until Christmas eve, like my husband 😉 I’m one of those people who takes a lot of time gift wrapping, only because I really enjoy doing it (and it helps if I have a glass of wine and a fave Christmas movie or music playing in the background as well!). For a couple of years now, I have stuck to the tried and true kraft paper wrapping and this year, I still managed to gravitate to it. Hey, it’s ok to be a tad predictable!! But this go around, I wanted to give my wrapping a new touch, and I wanted it to be something anyone could do! Simple but still chic! gift wrapping materials gift wrappingI picked up this wrapping paper and some adorable gift tags from Ikea this year (they’ve got some great Christmas decor and gift wrapping!). Then I added yarn details to make them more unique, either wrapping yarn around the gift itself or attaching a little pom pom or two – see my pom pom how to here and for fun..check out my Anthro hack with pom poms from last year. The trick with this wrapping style is to vary your yarn placement. Try binding the present with a single thread of yarn or wrap around many times, making it as precise or spontaneous as you like! Then a pom pom adds a fun touch, whether it’s big or small!gift wrapping ideasgift wrappingI love the contrast of the black and white, the various patterns of the paper, the added texture of the yarn and the merriment of the poms! Who wouldn’t want to receive a gift wrapped like this!? gift wrapping 101

Head on over to 204 Park for another great DIY holiday wrapping idea today! Big thank you to Bouclair for the tree, pillows and stockings – what beautiful Xmas decor they have! And of course, thank you to Breanne Marie Photography for the help and these glorious photos 🙂
