Lighting Love: 10 Wonderful Wood Pendants

One of my favourite things to source for projects is lighting. I honestly think lighting can elevate a space from pretty nice to holy $%@! That’s probably why I’ve focused so many posts on lighting too (here, here and here for instance). When it came to choosing sconces for the bathroom in the Ravine House, that was a no brainer and I ordered these. Even in the bedroom, I had a clear cut idea of what I wanted. If you remember from this post, I was debating on side tables and a dresser but when it came to lighting, I was sold on these West Elm sconces and this gorgeous Kichler Brass Chandelier. It was a cinch! Here’s a glimpse at that design to jog your memory:

But here comes the bad news. When I ordered the Kichler chandelier back in April, it was backordered until June…and now it’s backordered again with August as a “potential” arrival time. So, in the meantime, I need another option. I visited my friend Danielle at Robinson Lighting and Bath and we sourced a second pendant.I hadn’t considered a wood pendant but the second she pointed out this Eglo Cossano one, I loved it! The shape and size (27 inches!!) are perfect for the space – a definite focal point. The wood accent ties in other textures in the space and the darker edge detail is lovely! It will contrast very well with the white ceiling. And the price is excellent, so even if I ultimately do decide to go with the first option, I can easily move this one to another area of the house (the dining room for instance) or use it in a flip down the road. Or if I loved it in the end, the brass chandelier could go in our dining room!
