What a huge difference, hey?! It all started when Ryan and Brendon opened up the ceiling and exposed the beams. Then they could slope the ceiling line, which made the entire space change and feel much more open. kitchen revealI wanted the kitchen to feel a little more traditional than our last one (see my inspiration here) and I was dead set on having black interior window frames. I didn’t quite get my wish but I got over it quickly when I saw how beautifully everything else was coming together (don’t worry…plenty more projects to come where I can get my black windows in!) kitchen reveal kitchen reveal kitchen revealRyan decided to try and pour concrete countertops (risky for a first timer? yup!) but there’s a reason why he’s so good at what he does. They turned out beautifully! kitchen revealWe opted for white concrete, covered with a clear epoxy, which actually makes these countertops incredibly durable! And then we decided to leave the edges slightly unfinished (just a small sanding) because that added texture is absolutely gorgeous and gives the counters a slight industrial feel. kitchen revealThe backsplash is in fact tile…made to look like brick, which I love! I thought it tied in nicely to our brick accent wall…which is my absolute favourite part of the kitchen, positioned right next to an amazing pantry. Gotta love that storage!kitchen revealAnd of course, you can’t forget this beautiful dining space (that originally had it’s fair share of green & yellow…)house flip house flip

kitchen revealI fell in love with this engineered print when I saw it in a home tour from SF Girl by Bay…and it fit perfectly taped up in the dining space. This large pendant from Crate and Barrel really nailed the finishing touches, if I do say so myself.kitchen reveal

So, do you love the kitchen as much as I do?! Come back tomorrow for my favourite part of the Laurier Heights reveal…the living room! (oh and I’ll show you the basement too!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • All the heart eyes! In love with that backsplash! Where ever did you source the brick style tiles?
