Lady Laurier: The Bathroom Designs

Holy moly, we have been very busy people over the past couple weeks. Couple that with some serious colds, and I’m constantly feeling like I’m behind! Anyways, it’s high time that I shared some more plans for the Lady Laurier and after revealing the kitchen design & overall home aesthetic, it’s the bathrooms’ turn! Since we added the second storey, we have the existing main floor bathroom and the second storey one (not including the master ensuite! more to come on that soon!). I’m treating them very similarly but with some small tweaks, the main floor will be more of a “powder room” and the top floor will act as the “family aka kids” bathroom! First, here’s what’s inspiring me for both bathroom designs…

I toyed with grey and black options for a bit but, I COULD NOT get this space by My Simple Simple out of my head! So, I’m running with it! Plus, since we are planning on green in the kitchen, I thought it was perfect to continue in that vein. The soft sagey green is absolutely lovely, don’t you think?? I am currently testing out a few options from Benjamin Moore but so far Carolina Gull is the front runner! I may have to do a whole post on green paints though you guys…so many pretty options!

The main/powder: With a green vanity, I’m keeping the rest of the space pretty neutral. The square subway tile will be continued from the kitchen and then the floor will be a soft white porcelain laid in a herringbone pattern. I’m mixing chrome and black finishes – the offset pendant from Mitzi will look spectacular next to a sleek mirror, and all the black accessories and faucet will pop!

The Kids Bathroom: You can see the plan is to keep the vanity and shower tile consistent. But then, I want to do a sleek 12 by 24 tile, just to keep it simple (not to mention easier to clean). I’ll bring in some softer lines in the curved wood mirror and vanity sconce (the Chloe sconce is so versatile, I could use it anywhere!!). Truthfully, if I moved in, I would want to do some fun decals on the wall, but staging it with a fun shower curtain and some kid friendly accessories will work too 🙂

What do you think of the initial bathroom designs for our Lady Laurier?? I’m intrigued to hear people’s thoughts on the green…and if you’d be interested in a whole green paint post….???

PS – Stay tuned to see what we have planned in the master….
